Available Products
Epithalon, also spelled Epitalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide associated with experimental work on cellular aging and telomere biology. The alternative spellings occur across the literature and supplier documentation; they are included here to help researchers locate the same research topic.
Mechanism and Research Context
An early cell-culture study reported telomerase activation and telomere elongation in human somatic cells exposed to Epithalon. More recent work has examined telomere-related responses in different cell lines. These endpoints concern cellular mechanisms; an increase in a cell-culture marker is not the same as demonstrating longer organism lifespan.
Interpreting the Evidence
Cell type, baseline telomerase activity and the biological model are central to interpretation. Telomerase regulation also has relevance to cancer biology, so it should not be characterized as a universally beneficial change. The Longevity category identifies the research field rather than a promised lifespan effect.
Available Research Formats
Captide offers Epithalon in vial format. The Available Products section above links to the current listing, including strengths, stock status and the associated analytical documents. Product availability is separate from the evidence summarized in this profile.
Research Goals
Documentation and Handling
Read the certificate for the exact sample identity, tested amount and lot. A report for one strength or batch should not be assumed to cover another. Follow the documented storage requirements for the supplied material and the procedures approved for your laboratory.
